The NOAA/CMDL sampling site on Christmas Island, located in the Kiribati island group in the western Pacific Ocean, is operated in cooperation with the Dive Kiribati. The NOAA/CMDL flask data from Christmas Island show an increase in the annual atmospheric CO2 mixing ratio from 345.99 parts per million (ppm) in 1985 to 373.38 ppm in 2002.
