Note: The NetCDF file TALK_TCO2_pCO2_GLOB_Grid_Dat.nc for Climatological Distributions of pH, pCO2,
Total CO2, Alkalinity, and CaCO3 Saturation in the Global Surface Ocean was created by Andy Jacobson of
NOAA Earth System Research Laboratory Boulder, Colorado. The variables in the TALK_TCO2_pCO2_GLOB_Grid_Dat.nc
were created from the TALK_TCO2_pCO2_GLOB_Grid_Dat.csv file, and follow their descriptions exactly.

This is the documentation file for the data of carbonate chemistry
interpolated and calculated on our 4∞ Latitude by 5∞ Longitude
monthly grid in the reference year of 2005.
The parameters TCO2, pH, CO3=, Hydrogen Ion, calcite, and aragonite
saturation, are calculated from pCO2 and TALK.
The variables in the TALK_TCO2_pCO2_GLOB_Grid_Dat.csv are described as follows:
MONTH Calendar Month, 1 = Jan, 2 = Feb, etc.
LATITUDE Latitude of the center point of the box.
North = +, South = -
LONGITUDE_360 Longitude of the center point of the box.
in degrees East. (i.e. 75∞W = -75 + 360 = 285)
SLOPE Slope of linear relation between Salinity and
Potential Alkalinity.
INTERCEPT Intercept of linear relation between Salinity and
Potential Alkalinity.
SST Climatological Sea Surface Temperature (deg C).
SSS Climatological Sea Surface Salinity
(Practical Salinity Scale).
PALK Potential Alkalinity. PALK = Total Alkalinity + Nitrate
(microequivalents per kilogram) estimated from SAL.
PALK = SLOPE * Salinity + INTERCEPT
NITRAT Climatological Nitrate (micromoles per kilogram seawater).
PHSPHT Climatological Phosphate (micromoles per kilogram seawater).
SILCAT Climatological Silicate (micromoles per kilogram seawater).
ALKALI Total Alkalinity calculated from Potential Alkalinity.
TALK = PALK - NO3.
PCO2_WAT_SST Partial Pressure of CO2 at sea surface temperature.
(microatmospheres), Adjusted to year 2005.
TCARBN Total CO2 (micromoles per kilogram seawater) calculated
from TALK and pCO2.
CO3 Carbonite ion concentration ((micromoles per kilogram seawater.)
PH Total hydrogen ion concentration scale.
HION Total Hydrogen Ion Concentration (10^-9 moles per kilogram seawater).
OMGARAG Degree of saturation (Omega) of Aragonite.
OMGCALC Degree of saturation (Omega) of Calcite.
